Stripe decline code: Pickup card

The issuer flagged the card for pickup.

Recovery outlook

Do not retry. A hard or fraud-flagged decline. Retrying wastes attempts and can raise your fraud signals. Flag it and move to a new payment method.

What it means

The issuer wants the card retained. It's flagged (often lost, stolen, or compromised) and shouldn't be honored.

Why it happens

A serious issuer flag: the card is compromised or the account has a hold requiring the card be pulled.

Can you retry it?

Do not retry. Like lost/stolen, the card is unusable; the customer must pay with a different, valid card.

Recovery playbook

  1. 1Stop charging the flagged card.
  2. 2Require a new payment method.
  3. 3Treat with fraud caution if the customer is unknown.
  4. 4Don't loop retries on pickup flags.

How Reecova handles pickup_card

Reecova marks pickup_card as a hard decline, stops retries so you don't stack fraud signals, and surfaces it for a clean payment-method switch or write-off. It runs across your whole Stripe account automatically, and shows the dollars each code is costing you.
